Leadership

Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

(Ephesians 4:11-13)

At Faith Community Christian Church, our pastors act as leading elders of the community. We have called them from all other work and support them so that they might exercise their God-given roles as shepherds by focusing on the disciplines of prayer, the study and teaching of Scripture and spiritual counsel. We provide mutual accountability for them and keep them in our prayers.

Pastor Ted Ng
Lead Pastor

Before all else, Ted finds his identity in his friendship with Jesus. He is continually learning what it means to live with Christ and in Christ, as well as with the other persons of the Trinity. He finds his calling in his family: he is a husband to Eudora, a father to three young adults (Evan, Gregory, and Jenalyn), and a child to Philip and Emily. As his many interests and hobbies suggest, there is more to Ted than meets the eye. He not only practices several martial arts, including Kobudo (Traditional Okinawan Weapons), but also reads and writes poetry. At the same time, Ted enjoys exploring ideas related to spirituality, theology, and culture. Some of his favorite stories—such as The Lord of the Rings, a book, and The Walking Dead, a video game—are ones which reveal truths about humanity. To Ted, the world is full of interesting and wonderful things; there’s always more to discover.

Ted holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature (B.A. (Hons.), University of Waterloo) along with a Master’s degree (M.Div., Regent College) and a Doctorate in Christian Spirituality (D. Min., Fuller Theological Seminary). In 1993, he interned as a pastor at Christ Church of China. Then, beginning in 1995, he served on the pastoral team at Lord’s Grace Church for 12 years. He was ordained in 2000. In 2007, God invited Ted to plant F3C with him in response to the needs in Vancouver’s Christian community. It is Ted’s hope that F3C will be a real, tangible example of God’s kingdom of love on Earth. He hopes our church will be rooted in historical Christianity and faithful to God’s heart. Meanwhile, Ted has been committed to the spiritual formation and training of pastors for over 20 years through apprenticeship, mentoring, and teaching. He has served as an adjunct professor at Carey Theological College. His interests are in Spiritual Theology, Pastoral Formation, Intercultural Engagement, Next Generation Chinese Ministry and Missional Church Ministry.

Pastor Diana Gee
Associate Pastor

A second-generation Chinese Canadian from Edmonton, Diana moved to Vancouver when she enrolled in Regent College’s Master of Divinity program. In Vancouver, she was invited to attend F3C (which was, wonderfully, within walking distance from her home at the time). She then worked as the first pastoral intern in F3C’s ministry apprenticeship program for two years. After graduating from Regent in 2011, she was asked to become F3C’s associate pastor. To Diana, this was an opportunity of a lifetime. She loved the church’s welcoming environment, as well as its focus on relationships, authenticity, and listening to the Spirit. In 2018, Diana was ordained by the church. She now hopes to see F3C become a spiritual home where all our members will discover that we are beloved by God and have a place in His creation. She prays that we will not only encounter God, but also know Jesus as Lord, Savior, and Friend.

In the Fall of 2019, Diana began studying the art of spiritual direction through Fuller Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry: Spiritual Direction track. On her own time, she tries to keep her small garden patch alive, dabbles in wood-working projects, and learns iconography. Before moving to Vancouver, Diana (who has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta) was a Professional Engineer. She worked as a designer in structural engineering for more than six years. She is an easy-going introvert with a questioning mind, and an open heart.

Jayden Leong
Pastoral Intern

Jayden was born and raised in Calgary, where he learned the city’s geography by racing to ice hockey arenas after school. As a young adult, Jayde moved to Vancouver for university, where he first encountered Jesus— a life-changing experience of healing, friendship, and love. Today, Jayden is grateful to be a member of F3C alongside his wife, Anna, and to serve the church as an intern youth pastor. His longing is for young people to be surprised and forever shaped by the beauty of the Lord Jesus.

Susan Sung
Elder – President

A native of Ontario, Susan grew up in Ottawa and attended Ottawa University before moving to Vancouver. She’s now the Chief Operating Officer of the Sung Household: a mom to two funny, imaginative children and a wife to her dearest husband. Susan was first encouraged to visit F3C by a friend of a friend. When she did, she was surprised by the acceptance and love the community gave her. It offered her a haven where people understand that everyone has strengths and weaknesses—where her spirit could be nurtured, and where she could nurture others’ in return. Grateful for all the care she has received throughout her life, Susan now longs to care for others, including by serving as an elder at F3C. She hopes that together, the members of our church will see and accept each other for who we are.

Along with supporting the community at F3C, Susan acts as the Vice President Chair of the Parent Advisory Committee at her son’s school. She also volunteers at her daughter’s school. At home, she takes on the role of a reluctant gardener. One thing Susan really enjoys is food: cooking it, eating it, having long conversations about it—even daydreaming about it. She especially loves making food that excites the taste buds, brings back memories, or simply warms the soul.
